Why we built Sitefire

For years we’ve been appalled at how difficult it was for businesses to get a reasonably priced and good looking website.

The web is the first place most people go to research things and yet most companies still struggle with sites they can’t edit and which don’t reflect the values and quality they offer. Many companies simply don’t have a website at all.

Affordable quality and functionality

In 2006 we decided to do something about it and after six months of hard designing and programming, Sitefire was launched.

We wanted to be able to offer gorgeous, affordable websites whose prices were stated up-front and honestly.

We were adamant that the sites not only look good but also gave business owners complete control to add and edit pages without any external assistance.

Empowering community

As well as these though we had one another, more esoteric goal. We wanted not only to give businesses but also communities the power to communicate and to afford the advantages the web has to offer.

So much information is still simply not available online and giving charities and SME’s the tools to publicise theirs gives power to the community as a whole.

Would we buy a site from us?

It’s that most telling of questions - if we weren’t us, would we buy one of our sites and consider we’d done well?

The answer is categorically, yes. We’re overjoyed with the level of design and functionality we can offer and totally satisfied that no-one else currently comes close.

What’s next?

We’re very excited with what we’ve currently got on offer but we’ve got big plans and having launched, we’re going to be working hard to include:

• E-commerce integration with Paypal
• More designs and page templates
• Sites that can scale to thousands of pages
• Social software components like sharing, recommendations and collaboration

We can currently offer great brochure-ware sites but our goals are to go far beyond that and give people exceptional tools that let them communicate and shop far more easily than they can today.
